Description

Offered is a vintage lot of 23 Motorola ceramic DRAM integrated circuits, primarily marked MCM6616L6, along with several Motorola parts marked 8041016.

These are genuine vintage ceramic ICs dating from the 1978 era, making them particularly interesting to vintage computer collectors, semiconductor collectors, electronics historians, restoration enthusiasts, and precious-metal recovery buyers.

LOT INCLUDES

23 total vintage Motorola ceramic RAM ICs

• Motorola MCM6616L6

• Several alternate-marked 8041016 examples

• Vintage 16K × 1-bit DRAM / 4116-family components

• Ceramic DIP packages

• Motorola logos on the tops of the MCM6616L6 examples

• Multiple 1978 date/lot markings including:

7833, 7837, 7840, 7841, 7842, 7843, 7844 and 7845

The reverse sides have MALAYSIA markings followed by various additional manufacturing/assembly codes.

The different four-digit numbers appear to represent production/batch identification rather than different memory capacities. Period documentation specifically records Motorola 8041016 chips being used as 4116 RAM and notes that the additional four-digit markings were believed to be batch-control numbers.

COLLECTOR / COMPUTER HISTORY

These are excellent candidates for:

• Vintage computer restoration

• 4116 RAM collectors

• Motorola semiconductor collectors

• Early computer enthusiasts

• Vintage IC collections

• Electronics history displays

• Component research

• Gold/precious-metal recovery research

GOLD RECOVERY

The ceramic packages and metalized surfaces may be of interest to precious-metal recovery buyers.

No specific gold content or recovery yield is guaranteed. These are being sold primarily as collectible vintage electronic components, not as a guaranteed scrap-gold lot.

TESTING / CONDITION

Untested.

I do not have the equipment necessary to electrically test each individual IC. They are therefore being sold AS-IS and untested.

Please examine all photos carefully. The photographs show the actual chips included in this lot.
